As I get older I find myself more drawn to lyrics. It doesn't have to be something profound. A bad lyric can destroy a good song - worst are 'try hard lyrics' where the writer really wants to be clever and articulate, but just can't cut it. A lot of pop doesn't even try this, so you've got to judge that on it's own terms. It sets the bar lower.

Why, oh, why are The Beatles so great?
I have pondered that statement for sometime and I finally have an answer to it: The Beatles were extraordinary because they were so ahead of their time and their lyrics always had a story behind them. Whether is was from a crazy song like "Helter Skelter" to a more simple song like "All You Need is Love," the Beatles expressed their feelings through the art of song, and that included having a story behind their art.
The Beatles had the amazing talent of staying with the times, not only with their sound, but with their lyrics. In their early years, their songs were slightly shallow in their meaning, but sounded good and thats all that mattered to the teenage pop fan base. But as the Beatles and their fans grew older so did their songs. Without their ability to invent and stay current, the Beatles would have barely made a ripple in their time, let alone the current generation.
If you want to talk about the technical aspects about their popularity, they did these first:
-tape delay effects
-reversed audio in final takes-album that couldn't be duplicated live (sgt pepper)----album tour (ok, they kind of copied elvis and his "touring car" that he used to promote his music over, say, performing at shows)
-eastern influence in western sound (thanks to george, continued by the tea pary)
They're popular because they did it first, and, more importantly, are recognized as being the first. Something with them just clicked for people all over the world. Finally, I think it's because their music is generally inoffensive. It's not too loud or hard core, not too quiet or soft. It's that middle-ground that so many people love and it's easy to understand.
For me, it's the fact that they didn't stick to one sound, George and John were amazing song writers. Many of their songs are about how beautiful the world can be if you look at it the right way. They inspired hope, and comfort during dark times. That is what made them great for me.
Well, thats all I have to say about that. My name is Kimberly Beaudin, and you stay classy, San Diego.

First Follower *yesss!*
Secondly, I just wanted to share my time I had with my Grandma, cousin, sister, and mom tonight. So, as a group, Scrabble is something we all enjoyed, and its also a game that we all cheat in. No, "que" is not an english word. Putting a "Y" after any word does not make it an adjective. Well, as we were playing, the first six letters that I pulled out were: G, V, A, N, I, A. I dont think much of them until we actually start playing. Then, I realize, that I have, indeed, spelled out "vagina." I guess I dont have a good poker face, because I could not hold in my laughter. I laughed so hard because I was trying to hold it in. My gradma, annoyed, asked me what could I possibly have to make me laugh so hard. In probably the highest voice I have ever spoken, I told her that I had "vagina" and an extra "L" to make another dirty word. I dont think I have ever seen my grandma's face look the way it did: it was like shock, confusion, and happy all at the same time. And, to top it off, all of that happened three more times. It was fantastic.
Oh, what a night at grandma's house :). Well, thats all about that. I'm Kimberly Beaudin and you stay classy, San Diego.

About Me
Ok, so, I am a freshman at the best highschool in the world. My life is a composition of sports, music, and fun. Im on the schools Varsity Softball team, and that has always been my real dream and passion in life. This year is my big 10th year of playing, and whats better then to make your dream team?
I love the outdoors. They just make me so happy. I am in a Venture Crew, which is supposed to be for boys but me and my sis joined with our friend and its been a blast. We go backpacking, hiking, canoeing, camping, scuba diving, and just a bunch of other cool stuff.
My favorite music is '80s. I just really love that era of music also because my parents listened to it so I was brought up listening to it. My favorite 80s artist is Queen and Freddie Mercury. His voice madulation and passionate lyrics get me though the day. For my personality, I'd say that Im fun, loud, and pretty darn crazy. In probably every one of my classes, all I do is try to make people laugh. Whether its from betting my teacher to break a wooden board in class, or getting the whole class to go outside for our lesson, I seem to have a good time with my classes.
I LOVE to travel the world, its one of my many passions. Just a small list of places I've been includes: England, Malaysia, Thailand, Bali, Phuket, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Bangkok, and a bunch of the states for softball. I love to travel the world and experience new coultures, and there is always something new to try. I do wish to travel Europe with my friends for our Senior trip, maybe backpack through Italy and France :)
Well, thats all I can possibly say about myself. I'm Kimberly Beaudin, and you stay classy, San Diego.
